Shirley Joan Sevier passed away in her home in Macksburg, Iowa, on August 21, 2015, at the age of 74. Shirley was born March 3, 1941 to Cecil and Eva (Vandewater) Clark. Shirley married Larry on August 6, 1958.

Shirley was a strong woman who loved her family very much. When Shirley was a young girl she had a love for horses, that love grew into a passion and into a part of her life when and after she met her husband Larry and had 3 children. As a family, they spent much of their time on trail rides and showing horses. Camping and showing rabbits were also things she enjoyed to do. The outdoors is where Shirley always felt her best. She was always on the go, from checking on baby animals, running to town or even doing her daily chores. Shirley also enjoyed her flowers. She had a variety of beautiful flowers, everything from her iris', peony's, roses and her hanging flower baskets. With a life full of excitement, stories and beauty, she then got to share all of these things with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren who always knew she loved them so much with very few words that needed to be said.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her husband, Larry Sevier; son Jerry Sevier, wife Teri Jo; son Ronald Sevier; daughter Brenda Edwards, husband Todd; grandchildren Jodi Haley, Ashley Simpson, Travis Sevier, Chelsea Graham, Cody Whaley, Chantel Sevier, Michael Waddingham, Nichlos Sprague and T'Lee Jones; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services: Will be held on Tuesday, August 25, 2015, at 1:00 p.m. at the Steen Funeral Home in Greenfield with burial in the Hill of Zion Cemetery, rural Orient. Mr. Phil Price will officiate the service.
