He wed the former Leila Butler of Melbourne, where they lived many years and he worked for Butler Dairy and Munn Plumbing Supply.
They then moved to Marshalltown where he worked for Lennox Industries several years, retiring to California to be near their daughter and husband who he lived the past four years. His wife, Leila, preceded him in death in March 1995. He is survived by three grandsons, six great grandsons and one great granddaughter.
A military service was held August 30 with honor guard as he was a Navy Veteran of World War II. Interment was in Forest Lawn - Hollywood Hills Cemetery in Los Angeles, California.
