Born Nov. 29, 1921, in Catawba County, she was a daughter of the late Clyde and Alma Witherspoon Setzer.
She was a longtime member of Abernethy United Methodist Church and had retired as a manager from Pic-N-Pay shoe store in Newton.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister and three brothers.
Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Woodrow Wilson Murray of Newton; a daughter and son-in-law, Kathy Smith and husband, Scott, of Maiden; a son and daughter-in-law, Jerry Murray and wife, Charlotte, of Raleigh; and four grandchildren, Lauren and Blake Smith, John Cameron and Michael Murray.
A Service of Remembrance will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 19, 2005, at Abernethy United Methodist Church. The Rev. James Church will officiate.
Burial will follow in Eastview Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the church Monday from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m.
