Gerald (Jerry) Vernon Sessions lost his battle with failing health Sunday, July 8, 2012, in Carson City, Nev.
He was born Dec. 1, 1930, in Goshen, the youngest child to Printice S. Sessions and Minnie A. (Hess) Sessions. He spent his early life in Goshen, Taylor and the Idaho Falls area.
He enlisted in the U.S. Navy on Feb. 18, 1948, and served several tours in the Far East and Pearl Harbor, where he received several commendations, as well as two Purple Hearts.
After he retired from the Navy, he was a trucker, a mechanic and worked in the lumber industry, where he enjoyed the outdoors.
He was especially fond of his Harley, horses, travel and fishing.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Annita (Bond) Sessions; as well as his siblings, Myron Sessions, Geneva (Sessions) Park, Marjorie (Sessions) Dees, Virginia (Sessions) Stoddard and Darwin Sessions.
Survivors include his sons, Jeff (Sue) Sessions of Carson City, Nev., and John (Susan) Sessions of Portola, Calif.; two granddaughters; and three great-grandchildren.
He requested no funeral.
