Graveside services for Mary Franklin, 89, will be noon, Thursday, March 3, at Atoy Cemetery, under the direction of Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home, with Bro. Don Copeland officiating.
Mrs. Franklin was born in Atoy on Oct. 7, 1926 to the late D.M. and Ida Sessions.
She retired from AT&T after 37 years of service. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Leonard and was a lifelong Baptist.
She adored animals, farm life and milked cows. She was also known for her strawberry cakes.
She is predeceased by her parents; husband, Ray Franklin; brothers, Rudolph Sessions, Travis Sessions; sisters, Fatha L. Brogan, Shirley Franklin and Thelma Sessions.
She is survived by her son, Steve Franklin and his girlfriend Lisha Stone of Plano; grandchildren, Kelli and her husband Jace Lacy of Fate; Michael Franklin of Dallas; great-granddaughter, Lillian Lacy of Fate; brothers, Joe Sessions of Conroe; Billy and Judy Sessions of Alto; sister, Tennie Sessions of San Marcos; numerous nieces and nephews.
