Kathleen was born March 1, 1923, in Bradford, to the late Cleo Donald and Helen (Seas) Selby. She was a graduate of Bradford High School, Class of 1941.
Kathleen married Harold J. Aukerman on June 1, 1941, and they farmed side by side for many years. Harold preceded her in death in 2004.
Kathleen was a talented seamstress, an avid gardener, a superb baker of all things wonderful, and a true naturalist at heart. She was a quiet woman who was most at ease with her immediate family. She was a member of the Painter Creek Church of the Brethren.
Besides her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by one brother, Russell Selby; a twin sister, Karolyn Keller; a granddaughter, Robin Blumenstock; a grandson, Todd Blumenstock; and sons-in-law, George McLain and Kenneth Shanks.
She is survived by three daughters, Teresa Shanks, Cynthia (Bill) Locke, and Claudia McLain; three sisters, Idonna Fashner, Elaine (George) Hackett, and Judith (Charles) Bunnell; brother, Donald Selby; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren; and sisters-in-law, Phyllis (Ivan) Aukerman and Phyllis (Melvin) Aukerman.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 16, 2013, at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home in Greenville, with Pastor David Cummings officiating. Burial will follow in Newcomer Cemetery in Darke County.
The family will receive friends on Saturday from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
