Mrs. Kate Seim Jericho, a resident of West Point for the past sixty five years, coming here in 1851, passed away at her home Friday, March 3, 1916, aged 70 years, 11 months, and 19 days. Mrs. Kate Seim Jericho was the oldest daughter of the late George Seim and was born March 14, 1845, in Angeracht, Hessen, Darmstadt, Germany, and she came to West Point with her parents in 1851, and has resided here ever since, excepting a brief period when she lived in Mt. Pleasant. She was united in marriage to Peter Jericho of Mt. Pleasant, November 1, 1875, who preceded her to the grave many years since. She was united with the Presbyterian church in girlhood and has been a consistent member up to the time of her demise. She leaves to mourn her loss two sisters, Mrs. F. O. Reisener and Mrs. R. A. Scovel. The family have the sympathy of many friends. The remains were removed to the home of her sister, Mrs. F. O. Reisener, from which place the funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock. Rev. J. M. Glick of the Presbyterian church officiated and interment was made in the city cemetery. Attending the funeral from a distance were: Mr. and Mrs. John Lemmer of Cedar Falls, Iowa, Mrs. Louise Gereke and son Fred, Miss Leona Carstens and Mrs. Frank Otte of Fort Madison.
