Edward J. Sedlacek, 90, of David City, passed away Monday, October 4, 2010 at David Place in David City.

Funeral Mass will be at 9:30 am Thursday, October 7, 2010 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in David City.

Visitation will be from 2:00 - 5:00 pm Wednesday at Chermok Funeral Home and from 7:00 - 7:30 at St. Mary's Church with a Rosary following at 7:30 pm. Visitation will continue from 8:30 - 9:30 am Thursday at the Church.

Burial will be in the St. Antony's Cemetery in Bruno.

Edward was born on a farm near Pleasant Dale on April 11, 1920 to Joseph and Mary (Novak) Sedlacek. He married Rose Sabata on August 17, 1943 in Appleton. Edward was a farmer, member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Bruno, and later St. Mary's Catholic Church in David City. He was a 3rd Degree Knights of Columbus, and a member of the Bruno Co-Op Association. He enjoyed playing cards, bowling, baseball, dancing, polka music and raising hogs.

Edward is survived by sisters-in-law: Vivian Sedlacek of Philadelphia, PA, Irene (Ray) Wesley of Lincoln, Marie Sabata of David City and Dorothy (John) Irons of David City; many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, brothers Joe and John, 3 half brothers and two half sisters.

Memorials to Masses at St. Mary's or St. Anthony's Churches.
