WATERBURY — Helen A. (Rainis) Secula, 85, died peacefully Friday, April 29, 2011, at Glendale Center in Naugatuck.

Mrs. Secula was born in Waterbury on July 21, 1925, daughter of the late Anicetus and Anna (Dostruts) Rainis. She was a lifelong Waterbury resident, was educated in local schools and had lived in the Brooklyn and Town Plot sections of Waterbury her entire life. Mrs. Secula retired from the International Silver Co. in Meriden, where she had worked for many years. She enjoyed crafts, bingo and traveling.

Mrs. Secula was predeceased by her daughter, Barbara Ann Secula, who died in 1995. She leaves her longtime friends, Mary Ann (Mangini) Holper and Maria McAloon.

Funeral service will be held Tuesday, May 3, at 11 a.m. at the Murphy Funeral Home, 115 Willow St., Waterbury. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, Connecticut/Western MA Office, 306 Industrial Park Road, Suite 105, Middletown 06457.
