Donald Secord, age 90, of Marlette, passed away after an extended illness Saturday, June 1, 2013 at Covenant Health Care in Saginaw. Donald Edwin Secord was born April 29, 1923 in Dryden, Michigan. He was ths son of Orrie and Edna Ryckman Secord. He grew up in Attica. He has lived in Emmett, Brown City, Lum and most recently at Skidway Lake. He married Dorothy Ashley July 1, 1944 in Imlay City. Don enjoyed hunting, fishing, and especially driving around the Skidway Lake area with his wife Dorothy, looking at the scenery and the animals in the woods. Don is survived by his wife: Dorothy Secord of Marlette; sons: Jim (& Shirley) Secord of Marlette, Doug Secord of Lum, and Michael Secord of Attica; daughters: Sandy Schwerin of Lum, Linda (Gerald) "Jake" Mack of Lapeer, and Sally Kuhn of Lum; one sister: Betty Schank of North Branch; and by 14 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents: Orrie and Edna Secord; three sisters; two grandchildren: Tammy and Amanda; and by one great - grandson: Austin. Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm Wednesday, June 5, 2013 at the Muir Brothers Funeral Home of Imlay City. Burial will follow at the Arcadia Township Cemetery. The family will be available for visiting 2-5 & 6-8 pm Monday and Tuesday , June 3rd & 4th at the funeral home.
