The daughter of James H. and Elizabeth J. Carter Seamster. She was born Aug. 23 [sic], 1891 at Queen City. On Dec. 23, 1923 she was married to Albert P. Hofen who preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death were one brother, Elbert Seamster and two sisters. Ava Pulliam and one in infancy.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Dale (Reta) Yates of Moberly; one son Edwin Hofen of Dallas Center, Iowa; two granddaughters and two grandsons.
Mrs. Hofen spent most of her life in Schuyler county.
She was a member of the Charity Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon (Dec. 20, 1980) at two o'clock in the Norman Funeral Chapel in Downing. The Rev. Samuel McCaman will will [sic] conduct the services. Burial will be in the Downing Cemetery.
Bearers will be: Don Schubert, Phil Hofen, Brian Hofen, Charles Seamster, Robert Seamster and Junior Schmitter.
