Obituary for Jeannette Scroggins

Jeanette (Buma) Scroggins, 77, passed away on Monday, December 1, 2014 unexpectedly. She was born on October 30, 1937 in the Netherlands to Duke and Martha Buma. Jeanette Buma’s family migrated to America on Christmas day 1948 from it Hiedenschap, a Province of Friesland, Netherlands. Jeanette’s Family crossed the Atlantic on a freighter during a tropical Atlantic storm and then traveled by train to Los Angeles by way of New York and Chicago. Jeanette’s father was a dairyman and with the help of an uncle, started his own dairy in southern California. Jeanette’s twin sister Dora and younger sister, Rosalie graduated from Valley Christian High School. Jeanette worked for North America Aviation until she met Boyd Scroggins on a blind date and they were married on December 8, 1961. In 1979 they moved to East Wenatchee. She worked for Tree Top in Quality Control for 22 years, retiring in 2002.

Jeanette is survived by her husband, Boyd Scroggins of Wenatchee, WA; her sister, Dora Buma of Ontario, CA; daughter, Brenda Renteria of Malaga, WA; her sons, Eric Scroggins of Black Diamond, WA and Devin Scroggins of Battle Ground, WA; her seven grandchildren and her eight great grandchildren.

Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 6, 2014 at Calvary Bible Church, 605 First Street, Wenatchee with Private Interment at Wenatchee City Cemetery.
