After a long battle with cancer, Margaret passed away peacefully in Ottawa, Ontario at the age of 67. She is survived by her loving brother Douglas, sister-in-law Nicole, niece Alexia, nephew Nicolas and many very close relatives and dear friends. Her medical career spanned over forty years as both nurse and then doctor in the Arctic, across Canada and around the world before finally settling in Port Dover, ON and practising medicine at the Haldimand Family Health Clinic in Hagersville. A free spirit to the end, she will be sorely missed by her extended family, close friends and patients. Many thanks to the doctors, nurses and care staff of the Juravinski Cancer Clinic in Hamilton, the Ottawa Hospital and the Central West Hospice in Ottawa. Visitation will be held in the Miller Funeral Chapel, Caledonia, ON on Saturday, May 31, 2014, beginning at 11 a.m. followed by a Celebration of her Life in the chapel at 12 p.m. A Reception will be held afterwards in the Caledonia Legion. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation or World Vision Canada would be appreciated.
