Jasper Lee Adkins was born to Stella Mae Scott and Theodore Eugene Adkins on February 16, 1925 in Oklahoma. Jasper attended Elementary and High School in Oklahoma.
Jasper moved to California in 1944 where he met and married his wife of 63 years, Blanche Baker. Jasper became a brother of the Masonic Lodge 79 Gustavas A. Thompson F. & A.M. in 1959.
Jasper worked different jobs until he was hired for the County of San Diego in the Automotive Repair Department. Jasper loved working on cars and enjoyed many years of employment by the County of San Diego. He truly admired his co-workers. Jasper was employed by the County of San Diego for over 40 years until he retired.
Jasper was a nature loving person, who loved fishing and telling stories about his fishing adventures. He would often bring his "catch of the day" home and share with his family and friends. Through the years, he was most proud of his gardens, which often included collard greens, green onions, tomatoes, and more home grown vegetables. Jasper loved taking annual trips back to his hometown and being the family Encyclopedia. When somebody needed family information, Jack or uncle Jack as he was affectionately known to his family, would always have the answer. One if the highlights of his life was opening day at the Del Mar Race Tracks.
On Friday, May 16, 2008, Jack was called home to join his parents: Stella and Theodore; his sister Doris, brothers: Nathan, Calvin, Edward, Dolvin, and David; and one God daughter. He leaves behind to cherish in memories his wife Blanche Adkins, one brother: Leon Adkins, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
