Mildred M. Allen, 85, died Wednesday, May 7, 2008, at the Indiana Masonic Home in Franklin. She was a resident of Franklin.

She was born on December 20, 1922 in Hymera,Indiana, to the late Everett and Hazel (French) Scott. She married Jack J. Allen on November 2, 1942. He preceded her in passing on July 21, 1985. Survivors include one son, Joseph D. (Karen) Allen of Franklin; one daughter, Jennie L. (Wendell) Sparks of Linton; one brother, Jack Scott of Texas; three sisters, Patty Kennedy of California, Sharon Mercado of California and Janice Carroll of Kentucky; five grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.

She was preceded in passing by one brother, Thomas N. Scott and one sister, Rosalie Sargent. Mildred was the owner/operator of Allen Flower Shop. She retired after twenty-five years from RCA in Bloomington. Mildred was a member of the First Baptist Church of Linton. She also was a member of the Order of Eastern Star.

Friends may call on Sunday, May 11, 2008 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery in Linton.
