GIBSON CITY - Mildred Aileen Allen, 80, of Gibson City died at 5:08 a.m. Thursday (Jan. 30, 2003) at Heritage Manor Nursing Home, Gibson City.
Her funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Lamb Funeral Home, Gibson City. Burial will be in Drummer Township Cemetary, Gibson City. Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the Alheimer's Association.
She was born Nov. 27, 1922, at LeRoy, a daughter of Harley Hilton and Letha VanDeventer Scott. She married L. Eugene Allen on Oct. 22, 1939, at St. Charles, Mo. He survives.
Other survivors include four sons, Kenny (Bonnie) Allen, Gibson City; Lenny (Kathy) Allen, Concord, Calif.; Gary (Lynn) Allen, Gibson City; and Kelley (Robbie Lee) Allen, Indianapolis, Ind.; two daughters, Beverly (Jack) Fields and Kathy Jo Rutledge, both of Gibson City; 16 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Leona Meyers, Fort Collins, Colo.; Carol Bottles, LeRoy; and Dode Allen, Bloomington.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a son and two brothers.
Mrs. Allen helped with farming and had worked at the Gibson Area Hospital in Gibson City in the laundry department. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, canning and music.
