In the passing of Mrs. A. A. Adcock, Folsom District, lost one of its oldest and most highly respected women. She was only ill two days and her death came as a shock. Friday morning, she died in the house she had occupied for more than 45 years.
Mrs. Adcock loved and enjoyed her home more than most people do. She joined Cedar Grove Baptist Church when she was 14 years of age, later moving her membership to Glade church. She was before her marriage, Miss Mattie Scooott(sic), born and reared in this community. Mrs. Adcock was a good neighbor, a loyal friend, a devoted wife and mother, and her children were most devoted to her, all of them settling near her after their marriages.
She is survived by her husband, to whom she had been married 57 years, and had the following children: Oscar, Cliff, Adrian Jr. and Aubrey Adcock; Mrs. R. L. McClure and Mrs. E. M. Redd; 25 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren; one half-sister, Mrs. Cynthia Gilmore, of Alabama.
The funeral was held at the Cedar Creek Baptist church Saturday afternoon ad 2 o'clock. rev. Frank Edwards, assited by Rev. Ralph Kim officiating. Pall bearers were her grandson, Harry Redd, R. V. and Hugh Dorsey Adcock, Ansel, Huber and Ernest McClure.
Interment was in Hays cemetery with W. P. Whitworth in charge.
