Birth: Aug. 10, 1826
Tennessee, USA
Death: Feb. 3, 1926
Texas, USA

Bob was born into slavery in Tennessee. As a young adult, he was sold to William Scott by Bill Barrett, a Tennessee slave trader.

Ron Melugin's wonderful book about this cemetery, "Heroes, Scoundrels and Angels" says that his nickname was "Uncle Bob," although unfortunately for his legacy, he did act like what folks called an "Uncle Tom."
