CHESTERFIELD Robert Cecil Scott, 80, Chesterfield, died July 17, 2007, at his residence after a lengthy illness.

Born Dec. 9, 1926, in Burkesville, Ky., he lived in the Anderson/Chesterfield area most of his life

He was a forklift driver for Guide Lamp division of General Motors for 25 years, retiring in 1988.

He was a member of New Beginning Baptist Church. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of the Local 32 Musician's Union and sang and played guitar for many local programs for over 60 years.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Dennis and Barbara Scott of Markleville, and David Allan and Debbie Scott of Anderson; daughter and son-in-law, Linda Ann and Randy Kern of Middletown; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Berchie and Aldene Scott of Anderson and Kermit and Ruth Scott of Burkesville, Ky.; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Lila and Austin Scott of Russell Springs, Ky., Hazel Bean of Burkesville, Ky., and Dorothy Moser of Glasgow, Ky.; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and special friend, Hazel Morrison of Chesterfield.

He was preceded in death by parents, Richard and Pearl (MacIntyre) Scott; wife, Frances Mae (Lame) Scott, whom he married April 9, 1949, in Burkesville, Ky.; two sisters, Nina Bean and Frances Owens; and three brothers, Russell Scott, Ira Scott and James Scott.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service, Anderson, with the Rev. Gary Marcum officiating. Burial will be in Bronnenberg Cemetery.

Visitation will be 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home

Contributions may be given to the Madison County Humane Society.

Military graveside rites will be performed by Indiana National Guard Honor Guard.
