The Philadelphia Inquirer; Thursday, November 9, 2000, Section Neighbors Page R3:
"Agnes M. Sheridan Scott, 93, of Chalfont in Bucks County, who was a secretary and later a ceramics teacher, died Saturday at Doylestown Hospital. Before her marriage, she was a secretary for several years for Prudential Insurance Co. in Philadelphia. From the mid-1970s through the early 1980s, she was an instructor at White's Ceramic Shop in Roslyn, Montgomery County. "Being family-oriented, her main concern in life was her family," said a daughter, Suzanne F. Scott. "Her role as a mother, grandmother, and matriarch went well beyond her immediate family to nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends." A native of Dundee, Scotland, Mrs. Scott came to the United States with her family when she was 4 years old. The family lived briefly in Colorado and then moved to Philadelphia's Germantown section, where she graduated from Germantown High School. She was the last survivor of 12 brothers and sisters. She lived in Philadelphia for many years and then in Willow Grove in Montgomery County for 18 years. Fifteen years ago, she became a resident of Chalfont, where she was a member of St. Jude Roman Catholic Church. She was a member of that church's senior citizens group and of the Guild of Little Sisters of the Assumption. Her interests also included sewing. For 49 years, Mrs. Scott was married to W. Frank Scott, who died in 1981. Mrs. Scott is also survived by two other daughters, Mary S. Ruck and Sister Kathleen Scott; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. A funeral will be held at 9 a.m. today, with a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m., at St. Jude Roman Catholic Church, 321 W. Butler Ave., in Chalfont. Burial will follow in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Cheltenham Avenue and Easton Road in Wyndmoor (sic), Montgomery County. The family suggests contributions to Little Sisters of the Assumption, 1211 S. 15th St., Philadelphia 19146."
