Ellen Elizabeth "GG" Scott Carpenter, 83, died Saturday December 22, 2012 at her residence. She was born in Portsmouth, VA. and is the widow of the late Raymond R. Carpenter, USMC.

A private memorial service will be held at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.

Surviving are her daughters, Constance O'Brien of Wake Forest, Cathleen Triestram of Battle Creek MI. and Carolyn Clark of Waynesboro, GA.; sisters, Sandra Oravec of Galena, MO. and Alice Burris of Leawood, KA.; 10 grandchildren and a host of great and great great grandchildren. Mrs. Carpenter had resided with her daughter Connie O'Brien, granddaughter Tammy O'Brien Early and her family, Ronnie, Coltin and Kyle for the last 8 years.

Visitation with the family will be from 6-8 PM, Friday, December 28, 2012 at their home located at 500 Pressler St. Wake Forest, NC 27587.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Autism Society of America 4340 East-West Hwy Suite 350 Bethesda, MD. 20814.
