Andrew Nelson Scott went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on August 11, 2015.

Mr. Scott, a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, whose life of faith and kindness was an inspiration to all. He was born May 23, 1923 in Gainesville, Texas, to Ivy Jean Cowhand Scott and Samuel Floyd Scott. He was preceded in death by is parents, brothers: Lindsey, Floyd, Sherman, Foster, Garvin and sisters: Carolyn Jean, Virginia and Frances Scott. He is survived by his beloved wife, Betty M. Scott, and their children and spouses Jeannine Roach of Inverness, FL, Randall Scott and wife, Cristine of Ocala, FL, Ronald Scott, M.D. and wife, Pam of Longview, Susan Davis and husband, Frank of Danville, VA, Lynne McCoy and husband, Ernest of San Jose, CA; grandchildren: Cher Boney, Kristopher Scott, Erika Scott, John Andrew Scott, Aaron Scott, Luke Scott, Conner Scott, James Lockerman, Max McCoy, and Mathew McCoy, Jamie Johnson, Jason Bordon, Jared Bordon. In addition he is survived by nineteen great-grandchildren , Slade Scott, Aspyn Scott, Jordon Boney, Brenden Boney, Landon Scott, Audrey McCoy, Nevaeh McCoy, Jazlynne McCoy; Taylor Lockerman, Hayley Martinez, Brittany Martinez, Kylie Schmid; Brooks Bordon, Brodi Bordon, Gentry Bordon, McKenna Bordon, Drake Bordon, Gaven Johnson, Lochlan Johnson, sisters-in-law: Jacquelene and Flo Scott, numerous nieces and nephews.
Mr. Scott grew up and was educated in Texas with a degree in Business Administration. He served 24 years active duty in the U.S. Navy in WWII, Korean and Vietnam Wars and retired as Master Chief Petty Officer. He was later employed with the U.S. Postal Service. He served his church, Lakeview Christian Church, Dallas, as Financial Secretary and Elder for a number of years. After moving to Longview, he became a member of the First Christian Church and the Cornerstone Class.
He was an avid member of several fraternal organizations, serving as Worshipful Master of the North Sea Armed Forces Masonic Lodge #829, holding memberships as an affiliated Past Master of Roy Stanley Masonic Lodge #1367and Pine Tree Masonic Lodge #1396, Valley of Dallas Scottish Rite Bodies, three York Rite Bodies, Hella Shrine Temple, A.A.O.N.M.S. Mr. Scott was a thirty–third degree Mason. He also served as Worthy Patron of Roy Stanley Chapter #1086, Dallas, and Pine Tree Chapter #1090, Longview, Order of the Eastern Star. He was appointed the Grand Representative of Puerto Rico in Texas and served on numerous committees of the Grand Chapter of Texas.
