OBITUARY - Plain Dealer, Wabash (IN)
Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Jones Funeral home for John K. Scott, 73, County Commissioner-elect, who died Thursday in the Wabash County hospital following several months' illness. He had been a patient in the hospital for four weeks.
Mr. Scott, a retired farmer, was born in Benton county but had lived in Wabash county since 1919. He was born June 18, 1875 to John and Rebecca (Kain) Scott. His first marriage was to Ina Brooks in Greenfield; she died in 1936. He was married Feb. 5, 1941 to Verna Brooks, who survives. Other survivors include on son, Raymond J., Wabash, one daughter, Mrs. Linley Rishling, Wabash, one brother, Will, Wabash, one sister, Mrs. Lottie Moore, Remington, and two grandchildren.
The decedent was a member of the First Methodist Church, the Masonic Lodge, Elks Lodge and O.E.S.
Members of the Masonic Lodge will meet in the Masonic Temple Saturday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock to attend the services in a body. The Rev. Samuel Emerick will officiate and #burial will be in Falls cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home.
