Was Born in North Coaticook Quebec Canada on May 22 1862
Came to Nevada (Date unknown) To work in the Mines around Gold Hill & Virginia City NV.
And Died in Gold Hill Nevada June 3rd 1885 at Age 23 of a Fall down a Mine shaft, And that is all I could Find out about him for now, But I shall Keep Looking.
The Above Information came from his Tomb Stone and Death Records kept at the State Arcives
The Attached Photo C-1879 is Courtesy of the Edwards Family Album of Virginia City NV 1862-1911 which is now in the State Museum in Carson City Nevada, It has wiitten in pencil under the photo in the Album " John Scott Killed at the Knickerbocker Shaft June 3 1885" I take it that John was a Family Friend
Interesting Note that there is TWO! John Scott's Buried in this Cemetery, And both were born in Canada and both Died while mining. I wonder if they were some how related as they are buried about 30 feet from each other, Strange but true!! The Two Color Photos were taken in 1998 to show you what The Gold Hill Nevada City Cemetery Looks Like today.
The Photo of his Vandlised Grave Stone was taken in Sept. 2001. It is the wish of this writer that the ghost of John
haunts the dreamds of the Dastards who knocked over his stone.
