Funeral services for John L. Scogin, 70, of Clarkwood, will be at 5 p.m. today at Cage-Mills Funeral Chapel. The Rev. E. Y. Seale, pastor of the First Methodist Church of Robstown and the Rev. A. C. Bell, pastor of the First Methodist Church of Corpus Christi, will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. Scogin died at 3:15 a.m. yesterday at his home after a heart attack. He had been a resident here 59 years. Scogin was a retired farmer, merchant and former owner of the Nueces Garage. Surviving are one son, John Jr. of Corpus Christi; three daughters, Miss Josephine Scogin and Miss Beulah Scogin, both of Corpus Christi, and Mrs. Dale Troutman of Robstown.
