SPRINGFIELD - Andrew N. "Edon" Scibelli, 88, a lifelong resident of the City of Springfield, died early Friday morning, October 11, 2013 at Country Estates of Agawam. He was born and educated in Springfield, a son of the late Frank and Rose (Cava) Scibelli and was a lifelong communicant of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church. Edon was employed for over forty-six years in the shipping and receiving department of the Milton Bradley Company until his retirement in the late 1980's. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends on the many beaches of the Connecticut shore line as well as spending an occasional month wintering on the beaches of Florida. Edon also enjoyed travelling in his later years with family or friends as well as making an occasional pilgrimage to a local casino or two. He leaves six loving nieces, Ann, Rose, Diane, Sandy, Corrine and Darlene; four nephews, Anthony, Albert, Carmin and Frank; his dear friend and companion for many years, Rene; as well as many grandnieces and grandnephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his siblings, Albert Scibelli, Carmella Settembro, Thomas Scibelli, Corrine Lattell and Clara Fragomeni. His funeral will be held on Wednesday, October 16th at 8:30 a.m. from the Forastiere Funeral Home, 45 Locust Street, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 123 Williams St., with Rites of Committal to conclude in the Scibelli family lot at St. Michael's Cemetery, 1601 State St., all of Springfield.
