Funeral services were held for Fred Schwemm, 423 North Cook Street, who died Thursday at his late residence, at the funeral chapel, 149 W. Main street, Sunday afternoon with Rev Herman Koening officiating. Burial was in Evergreen cemetery.

Mr. Schwemm was born at Sterbitz, Germany in 1859, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Schwemm. He came to this country while still a youth and engaged in farming. He was road commissioner of Barrington Township for many years. Eighteen years ago he retired from farming and moved to Barrington.

He is survived by his widow, the former Miss Emma Redmeier (sp) and six children; Charles, Fred, Mrs. William Pahlke, Mrs. Mary Buehler, Frank and Clarence, all of this community: three brothers, August and John of Barrington and William of Crystal lake, and two sisters, Mrs. William Schnetlage of Barrington and Mrs. William Lyons of Chicago.
