Janet K. Alumbaugh, 49, Anderson, died September 2 at her residence after a battle with cancer.
She was born September 22, 1942, in Anderson and was a lifelong Madison County resident. She had been an Avon sales representative for 20 years.
She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Anderson, a Eucharistic minister, RCIA sponsor, and a CCD instructor at the church.
Survivors include her husband of 32 years, Jerry Alumbaugh; her mother, Katherine Schweitzer of Alexandria; a son, James Alumbaugh, at home; two daughters, Lisa (Tim) Johnson of Indianapolis, and Amanda (Brian) Brown of Anderson; three sisters, Jackie (Barney) Maynard and Jean Ann (Francis) Flecker, both of Alexandria, and Joyce (John) Taylor of Oklahoma City, OK.; two brothers, Joe Schweitzer of Alexandria, and John Schweitzer of Oklahoma; and several nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial was conducted September 4, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Anderson with the Rev. Robert Klemme officiating. Burial followed at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church in Anderson.
Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service handled the local arrangements.
Janet now has 5 grandchildren.
