I have found a Bertha Schwartz, born Germany, in the 1900 census for Napa County. She is enumerated as a patient and housewife, living in the Napa State Hospital "for the insane." This might account for Moses being able to travel so much, per the many censusing locations I have found for him, or perhaps the reason why. It seems they lost their little girl, Bertha in 1875 and I do not see any evidence of having more children.
I hesitate to add this to Bertha's memorial, but in doing so, I wish to acknowledge that she is not forgotten.
