After graduation Agnes worked for Chrysler where she met her future husband, Frank Schwartz. They married in 1949 at St. Margaret Mary Church in Detroit. They moved to St. Clair Shores where they resided for the rest of their lives.
Agnes was a full time mother and homemaker. She was a simple lady, dedicated to her family. She spent all of her time with her family and was a doting grandmother. She enjoyed gardening and at one time had 239 rose bushes in her yard. She also was an avid Red Wings fan and a member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church.
Mrs. Schwartz is survived by her children, Michael (Jean), Frank (Lynne), John (Anne), and Marie; grandchildren, Andrea, Michael, Julie, Steven and Kelsie; great-grandchildren, Emmett, Matthew, Andrea and Gianna; and sisters Frances Stanish and Annie Sikorski. She was predeceased by her husband Frank in 1989, a son Steven, a sister Helen Kent and a brother Albert VanDeMarlie.
Visitation will be held on Monday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the A. H. Peters Funeral Home, 20705 Mack Avenue at Vernier Road in Grosse Pointe Woods. The funeral will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with Sr. Carol Juhasz, Pastoral Associate at St. Joan of Arc Church officiating. Interment will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Detroit.
