Rosemarie M. Novak, resident of St. Otto's Care Center in Little Falls, formerly of Brainerd, passed away on Tuesday, April 5, 2011, at St. Cloud Hospital. She was born in Chicago Dec. 28, 1927, to Arnold and Anna Schuster.

Rosemarie was the proud mother of eight children and had four grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Martin B. Novak; and their beloved daughter, Diane. Diane, born with Down Syndrome, was her greatest joy, whom she and Martin raised at home with her seven sisters and brothers.

Rosemarie is survived by daughter, Geralyn Soder (Alan), Cottage Grove, Minn.; son, Mark Novak, Apple Valley, Minn.; son, Gregory Novak (Jeanne), their children, Bryan and Kirsten, Champlin, Minn.; son, Paul Novak, Minneapolis; son, Thomas Novak, New Brighton, Minn.; daughter, Celeste McCalla (Kelly), their children, Payton and Brennan, Deerwood, Minn.; daughter, Christine Novak, Brainerd, Minn.; brother, Arnold Schuster (Jeanne), Hayward, Wis.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Sunday from 4-6 p.m. with parish rosary at 5 p.m. Sunday at Nelson-Doran Funeral Home in Brainerd. Visitation will continue at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Francis Catholic Church in Brainerd with Mass following at 11 a.m. Interment will be at MN State Veterans Cemetery at 12:30 p.m.
