Alice May Schultz, age 87, of Montello, was called to the Lord on Friday, March 1, 2013 at the Montello Care Center surrounded by her family and friends.

She was born in Milwaukee, WI. to Herman and Mabel (Zacharias) Tetzlaff on March 29, 1925. She was baptized at Emmaus Lutheran Church in Milwaukee and also attended parochial grade school and high school.

After graduation from high school, she worked in Milwaukee until she met Lyle Schultz. They were united in marriage on August 31, 1946 at Emmaus Lutheran Church and moved to a farm in the Pines between Princeton and Montello.

Alice worked a few years at the Montello State Bank before taking a position with the Farmers Merchants National Bank in Princeton where she was a bank teller and bank officer for 25 years. She retired from the bank in 1986.

In her spare time she made wedding cakes. She enjoyed dancing, bowling, sewing, cooking for the family, word search books, playing cards, doing puzzles and feeding the birds. She especially loved being with her family and enjoyed the yearly family sauerbraten meal.

Alice was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church (Little Mecan) where she was the organist for 40 years. She also was a member of the ladies aid and choir director of the church. Alice bowled in the Princeton Senior Tuesday Bowling League.

Alice is survived by her children, Glenn (Melanee) Schultz, Marvis Wegner, Leland (Beth) Schultz, Lorelle (Greg) Gerth, Nathan (Dina) Schultz all of Montello, Angela (Mark) Schwoch of Cambria; 18 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild; many other relatives; other special friends, Alice and Lloyd Nelson, her bowling and card playing buddies, administrative staff and the family and friends at the Montello Care Center.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lyle Schultz; infant child, David Allen; grandson, Joshua Schultz; parents, Herman and Mabel Tetzlaff; brother-in-law, Lloyd Schultz; son-in-law, Dennis Wegner.

A time of visitation for family and friends will be on Tuesday, March 5, from 4:00-7:00 p.m., at the Wachholz and Sons Funeral Home, 303 W. Harvard St., in Princeton. A funeral service for Alice May Schultz will take place on Wednesday, March 6, at 11:00 a.m., with visitation one hour prior to the service, at Trinity Lutheran Church, W1164 Fern Drive, of Montello with Rev. Robert Busse officiating. Burial will follow the service at the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery. Please visit our website to send online condolences to the family.
