Allene was born May 8, 1928 in Galena, KS. Her parents were Leo and Pansy (Burrows) Gandy.
She had lived in the Riverton – Galena, KS area all of her life.
She had been a member of the Lostine Lassies and the Dorcas Club.
She was a member of Riverton Friends Church, Riverton, KS.
Among her interest were camping, fishing, sewing and crocheting.
She was married to Benjamin F. ['Jim'] Brooks in 1946. He passed away Oct 31, 1948.
Then in 1949, she was united in marriage to William Wallace Bailey.
She was last married to Leonard Schroeder in 1959. He died June, 1986.
Her sister, Nadine Percy also preceded her in death.
Surviving are two sons, Terry and Debra Brooks, and Tony and Marjo Bailey, all of Riverton KS; 6 grandchildren, Keith Rawlins, Michelle Evans, Tracy Bailey, Jim Brooks, Jeff Brooks, and Colby Webb; 11 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren and one niece, Jana Joslin.
Graveside services will be at 11:30 am, Monday, December 26, 2011 at Quaker Valley Cemetery, Riverton, KS.
Pastor Wes Davis will officiate.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 – 11:00 am, Monday at Derfelt Funeral Home, Galena, KS.
Memorial contributions may be made to Kansas Crippled Children's fund, in care of the funeral home.
