Musa E. Brown, 94, Humboldt, died Monday, Oct. 30, 2000, at Pinecrest Nursing Home there.
She was born April 10, 1906, in Joplin, Mo., the daughter of Frank and Lilie LaTurner Schofield. She lived in Parsons as a child, and was a Parsons High School graduate.
She worked at Parsons Ammunition Plant during World War II, then was co-owner/operator of a neighborhood grocery store in Parsons for many years. She later worked at a clothing factory there. She lived several years at Lake Parsons before moving back to Parsons. She moved to Humboldt in 1983.
She married Leo Brown in Columbus on March 22, 1926, and he died Dec. 1, 1976.
She also was preceded by a son, the Rev. L. Lloyd Brown, three brothers and two sisters.
She is survived by two sons, Billie L. of Humboldt and Kenneth of Divide, Colo.; a daughter, Ramona Nielson of Wichita; eight grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Humboldt United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Don Flanner officiating. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. at Oakwood Cemetery, Parsons. Friends may visit Johnson-Kunkel Mortuary from 8 a.m.-8 p.m. Thursday.
Memorials may be made to the church or to the Humboldt Public Library, in care of the mortuary.
