Adelaide "Mary" Bopp, of Sedalia, died Jan 10, 2008, at her home.
She was born Oct 17, 1913, in Morrison, MO, the daughter of Martin Frank and Veronica Barbara Nolte Schneider. On Jun 28, 1938, at St. Patrick's Church in Sedalia, she was married to Walter Ernest Bopp, who preceded her in death on Jan 11, 1997.
Mrs. Bopp was born and raised on a dairy farm in Morrison, MO in Osage County. As a young girl of 12, she drove a milk wagon and delivered milk. When she was 18 she taught all 8 grades in a rural school in Berger, MO. When she was 20, she moved with her family to Sedalia. When her husband was called to serve in World War II, she worked in the family business, Bopp Shoe Store in his absence. She was an active member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and member of Daughters of Isabella for over 50 years. She was devoted to her family and her religion. She loved raising her family, keeping house and working in her yard. She was known for her kind words, her prayers for other people and for her extensive letter writing and storytelling to her family and extended family.
Surviving are a son, Carl Bopp and his wife Mickey, of Pekin, IL; two daughters, Judy Garner and her husband Robert, of California, MO and Luci McRoy and her husband Rick, of Sedalia; two sisters, Leoba Schneider and Helen Eschbacher; 8 grandchildren, Kelly Colvin, Larry Miller-Bopp, Scott Christopher, Laura Bopp, Chad McRoy, Chase McRoy, Doug Bopp and Lisa Bopp; and 5 great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by two brothers, George Schneider and Maurice Schneider; and a sister Margaret Woolery.
Pallbearers were Larry Miller-Bopp, Scott Christopher, Chad McRoy, Chase McRoy, Doug Bopp and Martin Hogan.
