Elna Bertha Alma Feldmann was baptized December 26, 1909, and she was confirmed April 13, 1924, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Aleman, Hamilton County, Texas.
Elna Feldmann married Theodore Frank Otto Schmidt on November 24, 1935.
Elna and Ted Schmidt were the parents of three sons and three daughters; their oldest son was shot and killed in 1966 by the sniper on the tower of the University of Texas.

SCHMIDT, Mrs. Elna Bertha, 64, 403 Chaparral, died Wednesday. Services 11 a.m. Saturday at Wilke-Clay Funeral Home. Survivors: mother, Mrs. H. A. (Sophie) Feldmann of Hamilton; daughters, Mrs. Kenneth (Mildred) Lynch of Austin, Mrs. Leonard (Bernice) Buchhorn of College Station and Mrs. Garry (Wanda Jean) Mitchell of Dover, Del.; sons, Wayne Schmidt of Austin, Wilbert Schmidt of Caldwell; sister, Mrs. Hilda Askins of Hamilton; brothers, John Feldmann and Lee Feldmann, both of Hamilton; nine grandchildren.
