Louene "Lou" M. Stevens Schmidt, age 89, a Christian lady who lived her faith every day, passed away Friday, January 15, 2010.

Lou was born in Newark OH, to the late Richard and Mary Francis Stevens and graduated from Newark High School, class of 1938.

In 1945, she married Theodore Schmidt and until his passing in 1990, she always remained his "Lou Baby".

Lou was very talented musically and loved to sing. She was also an accomplished seamstress and enjoyed crocheting. She was a longtime member of the Hilltop Christian Church and a current member of the Karl Rd. Christian Church.

Most of all, Lou enjoyed making her house a home for her family. Lou would do anything in the world for her family and always provided unconditional love and guidance. In addition to her parents and husband,

Lou is preceded in death by her sisters Ruthellen Couden and Maxine Thompson.

She is survived by her children, Judy (Reynold) Molino and Garry Schmidt; grandchildren whom she adored, Tami (Rob) Leasure, Scott Molino, Erik (Lindsay) Schmidt, and Lauren (Mike) Hissrich; great grandchildren, Garren and Griffin Molino, Anthony Leasure, Ria Leasure, and Avery Schmidt; and sister, Betty Antritt.

Lou's family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Monday at the SCHOEDINGER GROVE CITY CHAPEL, 3920 Broadway, where the funeral service to honor Lou will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday.

Interment will follow at Sunset Cemetery.
