Margaretha "Margaret" Schmid Rhyner is the sister of Anna Maria "Mary" Schmid Rhyner. Both sisters were married to Caspar Rhyner. Margaretha was born May 1846 in Mollis, Glarus, Switzerland, and died in Grandview, Louisa County, Iowa, United States, on February 5, 1928. According to the 1915 Census, Margaretha immigrated to the United States in 1899 or 1900. Also, according to her probate record, there is no mention of a previous marriage or children from such, prior to Caspar Rhyner. Margaretha and Caspar did not have any children together. After Caspar's death in 1922, Margaretha was cared for by her niece/step-daughter through marriage to Caspar, Anna Maria "Mary" Rhyner Rowe, until her death in 1928. Margaretha is buried next to her husband, Caspar Rhyner, and sister, Anna Maria "Mary" Schmid Rhyner, in Grandview Cemetery, Iowa.
