Albena was born on Saturday July 13, 1912 to John and Elizabeth Bitz Schlag in rural Sheridan Co, North Dakota.

Albena was raised in Sheridan Co, and educated in the Berlin and New Germantown school districts, and Albena attended the Berlin Baptist Church in her younger years.

Albena married Gustv W. Lang on Saturday October 30, 1932 just south of Anamoose, North Dakota. They made thier home in rural Lincoln Valley, where they farmed and Albena enjoyed her flower garden. Albena worked for Stanley Home products for eight years.

Albena was a member of the Lincoln Valley Baptist Church, where she was very active in the church and Sunday School.

Albena was a member of the Twilight Circle, Home Makers Club, the Quilters Club, and started the first Garden Wild Rose Club in North Dakota.

In 1970 they moved into Minot and became members of the First Baptist Church, where Albena was very active as a volunteer worker for Community Action. Albena was an out reach worker for the Senior citizens, she gave quilting classes at the YWCA for six years.

Albena passed away on Friday December 09, 2005 in Minot, Ward Co, North Dakota.

Albena is survived by daughters: Jeanette Lang of Golden Valley, Minnesota, Marlys (Ron) Nuttman of St. George, Utah: Son Myron (Ione) Lang of Minot, North Dakota. eight grandchildren: Anthony (Nancy) Davidson; Beverly (Joe) Savarese; Kimberly (Todd) Lee; Kathleen Juhl (Randy Nogosek), Pamela Alexander (Andy Shelkey), Timothy Davidson; Karen Talley, Paul Davidson, (Jenny Johnson), sixteen great-grandchildren; one great great grandchild; one step sister, Dorothy Pankow of Bowbells, North Dakota, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Albena was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Arvadell Zimmerman, four brothers, eleven sisters, five step brothers, and two step sisters.
