Johanna E. Mouw, 83, of Sioux Center, died Saturday, Nov. 24, 1990 at the Sioux Center hospital nursing wing.
Services were held Tuesday, Nov. 27 at 1:30 p.m. at the Central Reformed Church in Sioux Center, with the Rev. Dennis Wilcox officiating. Burial was in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Sioux Center under direction of the Vander Ploeg Funeral Chapel in Sioux Center.
Mrs. Mouw, the former Johanna E. Schilt, was born Sept. 17, 1907 at Alton, the daughter of Marinus and Margaret (Wiersma) Schilt.
She married Peter W. Mouw on Sept. 6, 1928 at Hull. He died Jan. 5, 1990.
She worked for many years as a part-time custodian for the city of Sioux Center.
She was an active member of the Central Reformed Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Wilbert (Emma) Winterfeld of Rock Valley; three grandchildren, Eloise Winterfeld Den Hartog of Worthington, Minn., Sandra Kay Winterfield Wynia of Rock Rapids and Rebecca Ann Winterfield of Rock Valley; seven greatgrandchildren; two brothers, John Schilt of Modesto, Calif., and James Schilt of Fresno, Calif.; and three sisters, Marguerite Mouw of Sioux Center, Henrietta De Boer of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Dora Schuurman of Inwood, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Marinus, and two sisters, Nellie De Young and Minnie Baker.
