WILLIAMSBURG - Bobby Gene Schenck, 66, went to his eternal rest at his Williamsburg home on Sunday, March 1, 1998. He was a native of Faith, N.C., and had been a Peninsula resident since 1946. Mr. Schenck retired as postmaster of Newport News in 1987.
He is survived by his wife, Karen; son, David G. Schenck of Charlottesville; daughter, Angela S. Caravana of Williamsburg; sons, William Kevin Schenck of U.S. Rangers at Fort Benning, Ga., and Bobby G. Schenck II of the home; and his only grandchild, Benton Wesley Schenck. He is also survived by three stepchildren, Pam, Doug and Patty Mallory; two step-grandchildren, Ashley and John Harbeck; one sister, Mildred Massey of Newport News; and one loving brother-in-law, Ralph Massey, who shall never be forgotten. He was preceded in death by one brother, Glenn Schenck, USMC.
The family will receive friends Monday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Peninsula Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home by the Rev. Thomas R. Zehnder. Burial will follow in Peninsula Memorial Park.
Memorial donations may be made to Hospice Support Care of Williamsburg, 312 Waller Mill Road, Williamsburg, Va. 23185.
