Marie Alice Bateman, 74, of Fulton, NY, stepped into the light on Tuesday, August 25, after a brief illness. She was a native of Oswego and lived in Cicero before moving to Fulton. She was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Bessie Scharf. Marie retired from Lerner's NY & Company, after 30 years. She was predeceased by a son, James Bateman; two brothers; and a sister. She is survived by her husband, Maurice Bateman; two sons, Terrance (Melissa) Bateman and Joe (Mary) Bateman; two daughters, Dona Majo and Bonnie (Robert) Davis; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be 9:30 a.m. Friday at Sacred Heart Church, Cicero. Burial will follow in Pine Plains Cemetery, Clay. Mom⦠Grandma⦠We love you very much, and we will miss you.
