Olive Kresge Schaeffer Deal, of Greenville, age 94, died on Dec. 2, 2004, after a short illness.
Mrs. Deal was born on Sept. 17, 1910, in Gilbert, Pa., a town north of Philadelphia, to Asa A. Schaeffer and Mary Elizabeth Kresge Schaeffer.
Mrs. Deal and John Milton Deal were married in Shanghai, China, in 1948, and the couple traveled extensively with Mr. Deal's job as an entomologist, including in Central America, South America, Burma and China. Mrs. Deal was a registered silversmith and made intricate jewelry. She taught her craft at the University of Tampa when she and her husband settled in Florida. She also enjoyed sewing and reading. In August 1997, Mr. and Mrs. Deal moved to Greenville and resided at the Greenville Care assisted living residence to be closer to her niece. Mr. Deal died in 1998.
Surviving Mrs. Deal are her brother, Asa A. Schaeffer Jr.; her sister-in-law Lucille C. Cudahy; nieces, Mary Ann Heathco, Margaret Jean Snider, Betty Weakley, Barbara Langdon Henry; and nephews Thomas Schaeffer and Mark Ross Langdon.
Her ashes will be scattered near her birthplace in Pennsylvania.
