Born in Merzweiler, Alsace, daughter of Jacob and Margaret (Mueller) Schaaf. Immigrated 8 April 1889 to New York on the ship La Gascoyne, with her parents and several siblings. Wife of Jacob Ebenhoch. Mother of Marguerite Marlin, Clara Spotts, Joseph, Bernard, Clarence and Jacob Ebenhoch.
Akron Beacon Journal, Wed. 13 Dec. 1944:
"Mrs. Caroline Ebenhoch, 74, died Tuesday at the home of a son, 199 Crosby st. She had lived in Akron many years and was well known among local families of German descent.
She leaves her husband, Jacob, sr.: three sons, Joseph, Jacob, jr., and Clarence; two daughters, Mrs. Earl Marlin and Mrs. Clara Spotts, and a brother, Louis Schaaf.
Friends may call at the Hummel funeral home. Services will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday at St. Vincent's church and burial will be in St. Bernard's cemetery."
