Mrs. Tresia Scalf, age 60, of Johnson City, TN, passed away Tuesday, October 29, 2013, following a long and courageous battle with cancer at Franklin Woods Community Hospital.
A native of Washington County, TN, she was the daughter of the late Foy and Ruth Alice Puckett Hensley. She had worked as a waitress and also as a truck driver for Ledford Transportation.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Wayne Scalf; and a son, Steven Scalf.
Survivors include a son, Jeffrey Scalf and wife, Taina, of New York; three grandchildren, Kayla Scalf, Maria Scalf and Charli Lynn Scalf, all of New York; three sisters, Debbie Perry and husband, Clarence, Elizabethton, TN, JoAnn Coontz, Junction City, KY, and Judy Rogers, Athens, TN; and a brother, Jessie Hensley, Athens, TN. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral service for Mrs. Tresia Scalf will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Friday, November 1, 2013 in the Sunset Chapel of Hathaway-Percy Funeral and Cremation Services with Rev. Joseph Coontz officiating. Music will be under the direction of William, Barbara and Glenda Hammer and Phillip Coontz.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from Noon until 1:00 P.M. on Friday prior to the funeral service or at the residence at other times.
Graveside service and interment will be conducted at 2:30 P.M. Friday, November 1, 2013, in Mountain Home National Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be nephews.
