Former Anchorage resident Anthony Joseph Scales, 31, a warehouse manager, died April 7 at his home in Morrow Bay, Calif. A memorial Mass was held April 11 at the Old Mission Catholic Church in San Luis Obispo, Calif.
Mr. Scales was born July 28, 1958, in Bakersfield, Calif. He graduated from Dimond High School in Anchorage in 1976, where he was a class president. He also attended the University of Alaska Anchorage.
He is survived by his mother and father, Marjorie and Glyn , of Anchorage; his brothers, Nicholas Scales, of Eagle River, and Glyn Jr., of Menlo Park, Calif.; his sisters, Teresa Hensel and Cynthia Fleenor, both of Anchorage, and Penelope, of Morrow Bay; five nieces; and two nephews. At his request, his cremated ashes will be scattered out of Morrow Bay in the Pacific Ocean. Funeral arrangements were by Sutcliffe Mortuary in San Luis Obispo.
