Evi Sayre Dingman died at his home in West Scranton, Oct. 19th. He was born near Dingmans in the old stone house where the ferry was first started, August 20th, 1829, and was a son of Andrew and Caroline Sayre Dingman. His trade, a mill w---?, was learned at his home, and ?er residence in several places enlisted in the 115 Pa. Vol., but was discharged after an illness of typhoid fever. He went to Scranton 9n 1866 and for thrity-three years, was a carpenter for the D.L. & W. He married Elizabeth Myers in 1867. Four children survive him; Mrs. Anthony Litz of Scranton, Mrs. John Dingman of Stroudsburg, and Andrew and E.S., of Scranton. The funeral was held last Saturday and Interment in Washburn cemetery, Scranton."
