Mary Baldwin married Alexander Saxon in 1790 in Southampton Co., VA. Their nine children were James Saxon, Mary Ann Saxon Henderson, William M. Saxon, Elizabeth Saxon Procter, Alexander Gillespie Saxon, Salina M. "Celina" Saxon McCrory, Robert F. Saxon, John L. Saxon, and Phineas Clayton Saxon.
"At the old burying ground, in Section 20, on the E. Martin land in an early day, was built an Old School Baptist Church, which was used by that denomination for a number of years. ... Among the aged whose remains rest here are ... Alexander Saxon, in 1844, seventy-seven years; Mary Saxon, in 1855, eighty-one years...". Also buried in the Saxon plot with Mary and Alexander are their youngest son Phineas C. Saxon who died at age 24 and a grandson, also named Phineas C. Saxon, who died at age 1.
