Doris Elizabeth Goodin, daughter of early McFarland Pioneers Florence and Earl Sawyer, died January 13, 2011 in Fresno, an area where she resided for many years.
Born in Bakersfield, December 9, 1924, Doris grew up in McFarland, graduating from McFarland High School, class of 1943.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Garret Foley Goodin and brother, Jack Sawyer.
She is survived by children Cheryl Boney (Verle), Sanger; Gail Friebe (Steve), Clovis; Laurel Bird (Butch Walker), Conway, AR and Darrrel Goodin, (Laurie), Mesa AZ.
Also surviving are a brother, Robert Sawyer (Eleanor), Bakersfield; sister-in-law, Hazel Sawyer, Chino, eight grand children, two greats and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
A memorial service will be celebrated Monday, January 31st, at 12:00 p.m. at Northside Church, 2907 E Nees, Fresno. Friends are welcome.
Interment Clovis Cemetery.
