ROBERT P. SAWYER
Robert P. Sawyer of Longwood, Fla., died Aug. 16, 2013 in Nashville.
Beloved son of the late Iva and Robert Sawyer of Morristown, Bob grew up in Morristown. He served two years in the Army, most of that time in Paris, France. He graduated from the University of Tennessee with a degree in Civil Engineering, and worked for Bryan Engineering in Nashville, retiring as a vice-president. He was an avid golfer, flew his own airplane and loved music, particularly opera. He loved the outdoors and went almost every year to the national parks out west to hike. Bob's sisters, Caroline Popp and Janice Green predeceased him.
He is survived by his sister, Joanne Bryan of Medford, N.J. During his final illness, he was greatly supported by his Nashville family, his nephews, David Green and Alan Green and his niece, Emily Green Cain and their families. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews, Douglas Green, Susan Clark, Sarah Kunze, John Bryan and Nancy Clipper and their families.
His ashes will be interred on Sunday, Sept. 22 at 2 p.m. in a graveside service at Emma Jarnigan Cemetery in Morristown. Out of state arrangements by Allen Funeral Home.
